The Lead Aviation Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring and maintaining a safe work environment. The Lead performs administrative functions delegated by the Manager, as well as personnel functions. The position leads a team of Aviation Maintenance Technicians in performing the job functions; this includes planning and directing AMTs in their performance of their duties.
Summary of responsibilities (not comprehensive of all tasks):
- Supervises, directs, and supports Delta AMTs and ASM.
- Coordinates and prioritizes Repair and Testing of Engines.
- Provides technical engine support to Deltas line and base operations.
- Coordinates with EMCC, MCC and Engineering on operational issues concerning engine troubleshooting and repairs.
- Plans, organizes, and supports out of town trips.
- Promotes continual process and operational improvements.
- Supports team concept, driving safety, speed and cost of quality.
- Supports and enforces company policies.
- Practices safety-conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures.
- High School diploma, GED or High School Equivalency
The minimum starting hourly rate for this position is $65.74 with a potential maximum hourly rate of $66.33. The ability to reach the maximum hourly rate is dependent upon several other offered premiums (Examples would include but not limited to - Airframe and Powerplant license,Shift differential, Station location differential, Line Maintenance differential, Skill differential).

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)
- Must be an AMT or higher classification
- Must have an FAA Airframe and Powerplant license.
- Must be willing to work rotating or fixed shifts.
- Must have the ability to act as the working leader of a group of Aviation Maintenance Technicians and/or Helpers, plan and layout work, instruct and supervise the work of the group.
- Must be a leader in the areas of continuous improvement and safety.
- Must be able to read and write English and comprehend and apply information contained in technical manuals.
- Must be also be able to work and operate in a safe and compliant manner. Must be able to work without close supervision.
- Must be performing satisfactorily in current position.
- Must have strong organizational skills
- Must be able to respond to changing or multiple work demands.

- High School diploma, GED or High School Equivalency.

What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications)
